about

"Aos Velhos Amigos" is Rodrigo's first album of brazilian brazilian jazz. The album reflects Rodrigo's taste for stringed instruments. In this album you may hear a mix of Rodrigo's originals and two other emblematic songs: "Gambá" (a folkloric theme from fandango paranaense) and "As Mocinhas da Cidade" (a classic song from the country duo Belarmino & Gabriela). The whole concept was to create an atmosphere of Paraná, province where the musician were born, an unknown Brazil. He did arrangements for doble-bass, drums, accordion, piano, percussion, bandolim, electric guitar, violão and viola caipira. To finish, the album cover is a panoramic photo of the amazing "Canion do Guartelá" landscape, by João Inácio.
